Pratibha Patil, another 'pratima' of inaction !

Honourable President of India, Shrimati Pratibha Patil, was in Bangalore a few days back (sorry I don't remember which day it was!).

If you are one of those people who have never wished for a president like Mr. Obama, or never thought that it was important who was running the country as long as your salary was fat enough to feed your dogs, then you will continue to have presidents like Mrs. Patil who fail to make their presence felt on any platform (quite miserably). The news that the president was in Bangalore was covered by the newspapers but very few people knew about it. She was here for inaugurating some new facility of Apolo hospital. For a president as jobless as her it wont be surprising if she would be available for the inauguration of a CnC 'Guess who?' quiz!!!
Your next PM or President would have 'pratibha' or would be just another 'pratima', you decide! Jai Hind!

no comparision of obama with mrs patil...its very sad ..but the fact is most of our indian presidents in past have been jobless..they are just pratima..its like there is a vacancy in rashtrapati bhavan and somehow you have to fil it..just a formality..indian presidents(specially mrs.patil) are good examples of formalities..but still president like mr.Apj kalam are far better than these pratimas or pratibhasss...i wish that misile man will be back..and look at the pic of mrs..patil..she is.oh..god..she is looking like a goddess of formality.neways..

JAI HIND.

Well, at the same time when we say all these, we should also take into account the powers and responsibilities that Indian Presidents are bestowed compared the their American counterparts. In our political setup we have the President of the Leading Political party as one the most powerful women of the planet while our President doesn't feature in any list.
The major role of Indian President is restricted just to approve Bills, and act as the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence forces and most other powers are handed over to him/her only at the time of emergency (National/State/Financial). The root of this problem can be traced back to the time of framing of our constitution, the powers of the President are kept similar to those of the British Crown, where they 'reign and not rule'.
We did have an scientist for the role, who did inspire the young generation by this passion for teaching, and energy to travel across the country and make his presence felt by all its citizens. But we must also recollect the incident where he first sent back the bill on MPs holding offices of Profit and but within a month he cleared it without any amendment.

@Harsha
The most important 'responsibility' of the president of any state is to inspire and set an example of righteousness !! The president should be an iconic figure ... he/she can be influential without being politically involved if she dazzles (which by the way she should!)
